Sorry for the long wait, I’ve been without internet since saturday. Friday night we drove to my uncle’s countryside house which is an old little farm. On the way we met with dozens of horse carried carts. The farms are…
My flight from Tangier to Paris went well, no running late, no misunderstandings. The flight was a bit more bumpy, but it is to be expected with easyjet (compared to airtransat, transatlantic flights). When we landed it was snowing! I was so happy!
You might think I wasted my 5 days in Morocco but I heard so many warnings that I was way too scared to enjoy the culture on my own. It was raining half the time and I didn’t enjoy being harassed with the hellos and the compliments.
When I arrived in Nice I took a bus to my hosts and I was sweating with my coat on because it was rather warm and I had to hike up a steep hill. I dropped my bags and surfed a bit while he went grocery shopping by bike (remember the hill I talked about …?) and then we ate some salad with tuna and some shrimp risotto. He was so kind to cook I didn’t have the heart to tell him I don’t like sea food of any kind but now no one can say I never tried it!
When we got to the train station in Lyon it was crowded. The snow had delayed a lot of trains and it took us about 10 minutes to walk from one end of the train station to the other because you had to push through a very thick crowd. We were early so we went to buy out tickets for the next destination. Nice for me, Paris for my sister. Then we made our way to our host’s and Audrey met up with us at the tram station. While waiting we noticed how similar to belugas their trams looked.
If you are trying to keep track of when this was, put this blogpost after the one in Hamburg but before Denmark.
Our arrival in Geneva was a lot merrier than our stay in Lausanne. It wasn’t snowing and although the bus was packed we got to our host’s pretty easily. My sister knew the place since we stayed with the same person that hosted her when she came from Paris to Venice.
After a somewhat problematic train ride we arrived in Zürich and were faced with problematic tram rides. With some help from our host we managed to make our way to their place.
We got to Milan in the afternoon and took the rest of the day off. We chatted with our hosts, 3 of which were on couchsurfing, uploaded the Rome Blogue et did some couch requests and went to sleep very early. We wanted to recuperate from our stay in Rome which had involved very little sleep and a lot of walking. The next day, after 12 and 15 hours of sleep we woke up to a snowy day!
